We offer a special maker training program for First Years to quickly get you up to speed on the most common tools, get you access to key makerspaces, and get some Makerbucks to spend on supplies. The trainings are run by experienced student mentors and include practice on machines such as laser cutters, 3D printers, drill presses, and bandsaws.
Still have questions? If you are still unsure which First Year training to start with, you'll find more detailed answers to all of your questions in our First Year Training FAQ.
This 2-hour tool-focused First Year training program is designed to get you oriented and comfortable with basic tools quickly, so you can start working on your own projects in the Metropolis (6C-006B) and The Deep (37-027) makerspaces. Sign up for a short orientation (Step 1 below) which will give you access to both makerspaces, then sign up for a 2-hour First Year training (Step 2 below).
